Her Music

  Her fingers danced across the piano. Like leaves showering down from the branches of a tree on a breezy day, the notes showered down on us. Her eyes were shut. She was part of the music. I too was hypnotized. My head moved with the rhythm and my body followed. Her music shook me up like the water that ripples when something new enters a still pond. Take me with you on this beautiful trail of notes. Fill me with your music. Her eyes cracked open a slit and a corner of her lips turned up ever so slightly as she gave me a glance and my heart melted and I drowned. I stood still for a while. These were the ending notes. I closed my eyes and tried to absorb them in their entirety. I placed my hand on my heart and sank back into the cushioned chair as the last note faded away. Utter silence. Where was I? What time?
